XPO Logistics, a leading global provider of logistics and transport solutions, has received a contract renewal with B. Braun Medical, one of the world's largest manufacturers of healthcare solutions.

XPO will handle the distribution of approximately 5,000 medical products and devices to hospitals, dialysis centers, clinics and care homes to support the treatment of thousands of patients across France. Distribution takes place from the XPO site at Nancy (Great East Region). Nearly 17,000 shipments were completed in 2016.

"XPO has successfully adapted to our regulatory environment and developed innovative solutions that are tailored for our supply chain. This was crucial for us," said Claire Menut Vuillemin, quality manager at B. Braun Medical. "With this renewal of our partnership, we will continue working together to improve service to our customers, as we have for nearly two decades."

Goods are tracked using a new technology recently designed by the two companies to control temperatures during storage and transport. New data loggers have been installed in delivery vehicles, enabling XPO to remotely locate and check the temperature of the goods in transit.

Nicolas Robert, XPO Logistics managing director, less-than-truckload, France, said, "XPO has a well-established reputation for the safe handling of goods within temperature-controlled and highly regulated environments. We also have the ability to move very quickly to adapt to our customers' changing needs. Our latest investments with B. Braun show how we bring our expertise to bear when creating solutions that deliver a better service experience for end users."
