As XPO’s chief human resources officer, it’s my responsibility to make sure we’re attracting the best talent to our company. We want our global team to include many talented women, and we want to elevate them to leadership positions in an industry where women traditionally have been underrepresented.
That’s why I’m excited about our graduate recruitment program. Regardless of gender, we’re seeking out the best young graduates and tailoring training to their skills. Our goal is to move them quickly toward management roles as future leaders in our company.
I’m particularly excited because, as we search out the absolute best talent for XPO, we’re finding more and more that the top graduate recruitment candidates are women. In 2017, for example, 54% of our incoming program hires in the UK were women, which is a strong showing. These are the next leaders in transportation and logistics.
