The trucking industry has a driver shortage – there simply aren’t enough professional drivers to handle the all-important job of moving goods safely on the roads. We aim to change that by training men and women to become commercial drivers, letting them enjoy careers in transportation.

XPO operates driving schools at its less-than-truckload (LTL) service centers across the United States. Students can learn about LTL transportation, earn a CDL, start a career in the industry and stay close to home. There's even a hostler class for those interested in dockyard operations. The schools offer:

• Tuition-free education: All the training necessary to start a new career, minus tuition costs.
• A regular paycheck: Students have the option of working part-time for the company while they study.
• On-the-road experience: Training includes 160 hours with a driver trainer behind the wheel, plus 80 hours of classroom study.
• A healthy career: Graduates who pass their state license exam, a pre-hire physical and a probationary period are given full-time positions as XPO drivers, with benefits including health coverage, profit-sharing and a 401(k) retirement plan.
• Home every night: Whether driving within cities or between them, XPO’s LTL drivers cover routes that get them home at the end of the day.
